About Us

Hi, I’m Kristen Akula, the proud owner and founder of Second Generation Cleaning, a military family owned business built on faith, resilience, and heart. This business began during one of the most challenging seasons of my life. When my oldest son was born with complications, our days were filled with countless doctor visits and hospital appointments. I needed to find a way to provide for my family while still being there for him every step of the way. Drawing on the cleaning experience I had from my younger years, I decided to take a leap of faith and start something of my own, something that offered the flexibility I needed as a mother and the opportunity to build a better future for us.

Second Generation Cleanings Compassion Cares Program

At Second Generation Cleaning, we believe that cleaning can do more than make a space shine. It can make a difference. That’s why we started our Compassion Cares Program. This program allows us to give back to families in need, both locally and internationally. A portion of every cleaning helps provide basic necessities like food, school supplies, and uniforms for children and families, including those in Kenya, where part of our mission work began.

In June 2025, we had 30 widows come forward… 7 more than year prior. We were able to provide them with the basics that we in America never have to fear going without. When you book with us, you’re not just getting a cleaner home. You’re becoming part of something bigger.
